Why do Will Legacies Fail?

Many people like to leave gifts (known as legacies) in a Will, however these gifts don’t always get to the chosen beneficiary. The most common reasons are:

The item has been given away prior to death;
The item does not meet the description in the Will;
It is in the process of being sold at the time of death;
The beneficiary has died before the testator (person who made the Will);
The gift was left ‘per stirpes’, meaning the gift can pass to the children of the deceased beneficiary

By contacting TLB Planning today, our experienced Estate Planning Consultants will ensure that the things you want to leave in your Will, get to the people you intend to receive them.
